Great Southern Mining

Great Southern Mining Limited is an Australian based ASX listed gold exploration company that incorporated in January 2011 (previously Forte Consolidated Limited). The Company has a 100% interest in 450km2 of highly prospective gold tenure in Laverton, Western Australia.

The Western Australian gold assets in at an advanced stage of exploration, both within well established gold fields and within 30km of operating mills.

In Queensland the Company has a 100% interest in over 1,750km2 of exciting ground in north Queensland in the Mt Carlton Region, less than 20km from the Mt Carlton gold mine. The project is the subject of a joint venture with major gold producer Gold Fields Limited.

The Company’s aim is to create value through discoveries focusing on efficient, well executed exploration programs utilising the best available technology and experience.

The Company’s Board and executive team has a track record in discovery and development which includes the Mt Carlton gold and silver deposit discovered by John Terpu and the exploration team at Conquest Mining Ltd, now part of Evolution Mining Ltd.

The Company is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX:GSN).

John Terpu

Executive Chairman

Mr Terpu has over 22 years of commercial and management expertise gained in a broad range of business and investment activities. He has been involved in the mining and exploration industry through the acquisition and investment in a number of strategic exploration and mining projects. Mr Terpu has a wide range of contacts in the exploration and mining investment community.

Mr Terpu was a Director of Conquest Mining Limited from June 1999 to May 2010.

Matthew Keane BSc (Hons) Geology, Masters of Business and Technology

Managing Director

Mr Keane is a geologist with more than 20 years of experience in mining, exploration and financial markets. He has worked in various technical, operational and corporate roles including exploration and mine geology, scheduling and design, resource and reserve estimation, production management, and mergers and acquisitions for companies including BHP, Paladin Energy and Lynas Rare Earths Limited. He also spent eight years in capital markets working as a metals and mining analyst for Argonaut Securities. Most recently, Mr Keane was the CEO of S2 Resources, focused on advancing a portfolio of Australian and Finnish exploration assets.

Andrew Caruso B.Eng (Mining) (Hons), AICD

Non-Executive Director

Mr Caruso is a mining executive with over 25 years’ experience in the Australian and international mining industries, including significant corporate leadership and business development experience as well as operations and strategic planning, capital projects, and mine management. His most recent roles include the leadership of iron ore and coal operations and development companies focused on greenfield development and brownfield expansion of existing operations. Mr Caruso brings to the Board business leadership and large project experience coupled with extensive technical and operations knowledge.

Matthew Blake B.Com, GradDip (FINSIA)

Mr Blake has 25 years’ experience in the financial services industry and with companies listed on the ASX. He joined DJ Carmichael Pty Limited in 1999 as an Investment Adviser, later becoming an Executive Director of the company until the sale of the business to Shaw and Partners Limited in 2019. Mr Blake has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Western Australia and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment with the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
